Open Wings is not a day centre. It is a small, unique, bespoke and person centered service in Nottingham which was established so that adults with a wide variety of learning difficulties could access learning and activities in a small and calm, safe, friendly and supportive environment.
It is a place to go to if day centre provision is not always suitable. Groups are smaller and tutor to learner ratio is also small.
Adult Learning is tailored to each individual and specific to their needs. If suitable, citizens can work towards gaining a work placement or employment. For more information please see our Services and About Us page.

“Open Wings was formed out of our passion and commitment to make a positive and meaningful difference to the lives of adults with learning disabilities and or difficulties. It will recognise each individual for their uniqueness and diversity.”

so true. To often diagnosis takes too much time and the label then takes away support is required. ‘They don’t have mental health issues, they are Autistic!!’ They don’t need mental health support they have learning disabilities!!! #learningdisabilities #mentalhealth

Could not agree more with this. The whole person not just part of a person.

People facing addiction are frequently declined mental health support BUT it’s often their mental ill health causing their addiction. Both issues need addressing at the same time & our petition asks for this to happen. Sign here - . #seethefullpicture

Young person struggling with life, parents too. Look how long the wait is to get some kind of diagnosis?? No wonder the country is inundated with people suffering with mental health issues. Nip things in the bud before they escalate and turn into something else! OpenWingsAL photo
